Today we took the short trip to Herd park to take on local rivals Methilhill. We lined up in our usual shape but unfortunately were unable to call upon any top league centre halves.
Leven started at frantic pace as a well measured ball from Lee Harper found Craig Smith at the back post who slotted home expertly. Another few chances fell Levens way aswell as a stonewall penalty which was waved away.
HT 0-1
After a delay to the restart due to Ronan Galloway taking out the goalpost trying to throw himself at a header. Leven once again looked to impose themselves on the game.
Following some fluid football a cutback found Jordan Black who placed it in the corner with his left foot. Almost straight from kick off Leven had scored again after Sean Mccrossan was put through on goal, he dinked the onrushing goalie to end any Methilhill hope.
The next flashpoint as the Methilhill left back decided to lunge after the whistle had already been blown, handbags followed in which 2 Methilhill players saw red and Sean McCrossan saw red for Leven.
A Methilhill substitute scored a header late on but Leven managed the game expertly to setup a clash with Leslie at Bayview in the cup final next Sunday
